PACMAN REINSTATED…. AGAIN!!!
Arlington, TX
– The NFL is giving Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones another chance. Although reinstated, Pacman will miss the next two games until retuning on December 7 at Pittsburgh. Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones would not reveal any conditions the commissioner may have imposed and the league office said it would not have any immediate comment. Adam Jones was suspended from the entire 2007 season because of a number of incidents while playing for the Tennessee Titans. Pacman recently underwent alcohol rehabilitation as a result of his recent absence from the NFL.

OTHER NOTABLE NFL NEWS
Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen was fined $25,000 by the NFL for his hit on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In that game, Allen went unblocked and had a free run at Rodgers. Just as Rodgers released the ball, Allen hit him high and knocked him down, drawing a roughing-the-passer penalty. In Arizona, the Cardinals denied a release request from running back Edgerrin James. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, onfirmed an Internet report that his client has asked to be let go from the team but the request was rejected. Rosenhaus and James will continue to speak with Cardinals management despite the occurrence. He lost his starting job to rookie Tim Hightower; Edgerrin James has had only three carries for 5 yards.

MIKE MUSSINA TO RETIRE FROM BASEBALL
New York Yankees pitcher Mike Mussina has decided to retire after 18-years in the major leagues. Mussina informed the Yankees last week that he would give them a decision by the end of the week. Turning 40 next month, he spent the last eight seasons with New York’s American League team after pitching for the Baltimore Orioles for the first 10 years of his career. Over in his career, he has 270 wins with 153 losses, 3.68 ERA and 2813 strikeouts.



COCO CRISP GOES MIDWEST
Kansas City
– The Kansas City Royals picked up the leadoff hitter they had been seeking, acquiring centerfielder Coco Crisp from the Boston Red Sox for reliever Ramon Ramirez. The Royals was 12th among 14 American League teams in runs last season and added power last month, obtaining first baseman Mike Jacobs from the Florida Marlins. In his 2008 season with Boston, Crisp had 7 home runs with 41 Runs Batted In and batted .283. Puerto Plata-native Ramon Ramirez stats last season with Kansas City reads him winning 3 games to two and pitching with a 2.64 ERA.

WAKAMATSU IS NOW SEATTLE’S MANAGER
Seattle
– Don Wakamatsu became the first Asian-American manager in major league baseball history when he was hired Wednesday by the Seattle Mariners, becoming the 14th manager in the team’s history. Wakamatsu, an Oregon native with Japanese descent, was the bench coach for the Oakland Athletics last season after spending five years with the Texas Rangers. Wakamatsu was also a player himself, only playing 18 games for the Chicago White Sox in 1991.

INTERNACIONAL GOES TO THE SUDAMERICANA FINAL

– Andres D’Alessandro and Nilmar scored twice each for Internacional of Brazil to reach the Copa Nissan Sudamericana final with a 4-0 win over Mexico’s Chivas Guadalajara Wednesday night. The Brazilian club won the series on an aggregate goal of 6-0 after beating Chivas 2-0 at Guadalajara last week in the semifinal’s first leg. Internacional is the first Brazilian team to advance to the final of the second-tier Latin American tournament. Internacional is awaiting for this final opponent from the Estudiantes-Argentinos Juniors series, which is tied 1-1 and will be decided on Thursday in Argentina.

A.I. AND WALLACE COOL OFF CAVS

– The Detroit Pistons have cooled off the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-89 in suburban Detroit with Rasheed Wallace leading the top performer’s list of 21 points and 15 rebounds, Allen Iverson also had 23 points with 1 rebound, 4 assists, and 4 steals. LeBron James, coming off from a record-setting the night before at New Jersey, had 25 points with six each in rebounds and assists and four steals. The Pistons improved to 4-3 with Allen Iverson in the lineup while Cleveland lost their third straight game against the Pistons. They have lost five of their last six and 10 of their last 12 games against Detroit.

HOWARD-LESS BEAT YAO-LESS
Houston
– The Dallas Mavericks, without Josh Howard, defeated the Houston Rockets, also without Yao Ming, by a 10-point margin with 96-86 score. Jason Terry scored 31 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 24 points and 12 rebounds that led to the victory. Josh Howard was inactive because of a left ankle injury, while Yao Ming missed the game because of a sore foot.

DENVER CONTINUES SURGE IN SOUTH TEXAS
San Antonio, TX
– Chauncey Billups scored 22 points, Carmelo Anthony added 21 points and the surging Denver Nuggets cruised to a 91-81 victory over the injury-plagued Spurs. Kenyon Martin baskets in 18 and Nene had 16 to round out a balanced attack by the 8-4 Nuggets, who have won four straight and seven of eight. Denver improved to 5-1 since Billups joined the lineup. Tim Duncan was held to 12 points and results of the Spurs’ end of three-game winning streak.

ODEN COME OUT BLAZING IN BULLS ROUT
Portland, OR
– A sellout crowf of 20,599 fans showed up at the Rose Garden to watch Greg Oden make his home debut with the Portland Trailblazers. As the fans expected to see from Oden, it happened big time for the 20 year-old. Greg played 17 minutes along with 11 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and shot 3-for-7 in field goals as Portland rout the Chicago Bulls 116-74. The Trailblazers have won all four of their home games this season while the Bulls are 0-5 on the road this season, also their loss was their worst since losing by 51 to the Pacers in 2003.

VANCOUVER’S STRONG ‘D’ HANDLE RANGERS

– The Vancouver Canucks defeated the New York Rangers 6-3 at the Garden in Manhattan with Alex Burrows scoring the two of five Vancouver goals against Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist gave up more than two goals in a start for the first time since October 18 against the Red Wings. The Rangers gave up their seventh shorthanded goal of the season Wednesday. New York gave up six all of last season.

BRUINS RIDE FIVE UNANSWERED GOALS PAST SABRES
Boston
– The Bruins overcame an early 4-2 deficit to defeat the Buffalo Sabres 7-4. It was Boston's sixth straight win at home. The Bruins have scored 31 goals in their last eight games. Bruins center Marc Savard and defenseman Zdeno Chara had big offensive nights. Savard had a goal and three assists, bringing his season total to 23 points in 18 games; Chara scored twice and has four goals in Boston's last seven games.

OVECHKIN TOO MUCH FOR DUCKS
Anaheim
– Alex Ovechkin is dangerous enough when the Capitals are at even strength and having him on the power play is too much for the Anaheim Ducks as they lose to Washington 6-4 at the Honda Center. The Russian had a power-play goal in the second period to go with three assists in the first period. He also has two three-assists games this season. Washington are 15-0-1 in the last 16 games in which Ovechkin has scored.

INDIA SECURE WIN IN FADING LIGHT

– India took a 3-0 lead in the one-day series with a 16-run Duckworth-Lewis win over a much-improved side from England. Chasing 241 in 49 overs, Virender Sehwag (68) and Yuvraj Singh (38) gave India a platform before bad light curtailed play on 198-5 from 40 overs. Andrew Flintoff (3-31) was the pick of England's bowling attack in Kanpur. The result means England will need to win the remaining four matches to claim an unlikely series victory.

NZ ON TOP DESPITE DEFIANT CLARKE
Brisbane, Australia
– Michael Clarke saved Australia from total collapse as they were dismissed for 214 on the opening day of the first Test against New Zealand in Brisbane. Clarke was the last man out, bowled by part-timer Jesse Ryder, after batting for almost five hours to make 98.
